Give mothers a real gift on Mother's Day
NETWORK, a Catholic Lobby, supports HR 4 - Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Reauthorization. It reports: "The Senate has yet to reauthorize TANF, and NETWORK wants to make sure they hear our voices. Let us maintain the momentum around TANF reauthorization. Please send a Mother’s Day card with the following message to your Senators:

Give low-income mothers a real gift on Mother’s Day!

Pass TANF legislation that would:

• Increase funding to provide child care for the children of low-income workers;

• Reinstate benefits for immigrant families;

• Expand education and training opportunities for low-income parents;

• Help parents balance work and parenting by keeping the current work requirements; and

• Allow states to extend TANF benefits for families facing severe barriers to employment beyond time limits.
