A pre-emptive cease fire on Iran?
North Korea's nuclear test shows "that policies of isolation and threats of regime change will not prevent the spread of nuclear weapons," according to activists from the Ceasefire Campaign , who add, "We need to act quickly, before the Bush Administration makes the same mistakes in Iran."

The group urges U.S. citizen to let President Bush know they want a peaceful negotiation with Iran, not another opportunity for bloodshed and have established a website that helps them get that message to the Bush Administration. "A diplomatic solution IS possible, if the US recognizes other states’ rights to peaceful nuclear technology and Iran agrees to comply fully with IAEA inspections and regulations. Talks between the US and Iran won't guarantee a solution to the nuclear problem, but no talks will guarantee failure."

The Ceasefire Campaign began when 300,000 individuals from over 150 countries came together to demand a ceasefire in Lebanon. The campaign is a project of Res Publica , a global civic advocacy group and registered charitable organization based in New York.
